Dear Tech (Music) Nology

Dear Tech!
V.S.

The rhythm, and of course the beat.
Moving side to side and dancing the floor.
Feel the music flowing all through your feet.
The beats so good, it makes you want some more.
Get lost in the music, carried away.
Feel the deep passion coming from your heart.
Warm like the sun on the beach on mid day.
It’s been a part of my life from the start.
Made from things happening in real life.
If you listen closely there is a song.
Some are love and some are blunt as a knife.
I can listen to music all day long.
Music’s love or whatever it can be.
Music’s the life that is inside of me.

Taken from Waldo Garcia
The reason why I have searched long and hard for the perfect online radio and music provider. I've found great websites such as jango, gaana, aupeo. However, user friendly these websites were they did not provide the genre of music I desired-soca. With great dismay I returned to my iTunes, VLC and Windows Media Player. The limitations of these were that my music stayed on my PC and I wanted it to be accessible from wherever I was on whatever device I was using. If you understand my distress you would foresee my next move in this dilemma. Yes, I resumed my search for the perfect music provider and storage site. Success!!! I found one....actually two! Pandora and Grooveshark were absolutely wonderful.
I'll tell you about them each.

Pandora was referred to me by a friend, a MAC user by the way. I found the website very clean, well organized and balanced in color scheme. The most important feature of all is that it provided Soca music. However, the radio sucked! It was ridiculous the following songs which played next, the shuffle mode definitely did not understand the genre of the music. Seriously from Machel to Vybz Kartel, two different artists dedicated to very different genres of music- Soca and Dancehall. As a Caribbean citizen I wasn't ignorant of the fact that maybe the non-Caribbean population didn't understand these genres and their differences but, you are not excused Tech, in the websites' creation this should have been researched and understood, thoroughly! So I'm sorry Tech, but your Pandora doesn't meet my criteria.Readers please do not be discouraged, this website is fantastic, it just doesn't meet my Caribbean based desires and it has way too many ads.

Moving on, to bigger, better and ORANGE! I found gold when I found Grooveshark. It's quality of music is crisp and superb, the search results are on point and well organized, the website's layout is also organized, it has a cooperative color scheme, and yes I'm being extremely biased- why?- because I CAN and I <3 it!!!  Surprisingly when I searched for certain Soca artists, I found their songs from the beginning of time! This was great because I also love old school Soca.Today, I have a playlist of over 800 songs from many genres, mainly soca, and a favorites play list of over 510 songs. In conclusion, it is the best online music player!!!!
So Tech, you're doing something good, you finally did it right. Sorry for the short review but I gotta get back to my music, Grooveshark!

Everyone should use Grooveshark, it is a great website, and it is much better than Pandora. Enjoy this amazing product while it lasts!!!

GROOVESHARK USERS, RAISE YOUR MP3 PLAYERS, LETS TOAST TO QUALITY!!

Dear Tech (Theft) Nology,

I'll skip the polite 'how are you' and jump right into it. I applaud your recent advancements and look forward to your future endeavors but, I must express my concerns about the weight on the opposite side of the scale-your disadvantages; specifically online stealing, better termed, hacking.
During the year many cases of this situation has occurred and I am not pointing fingers at any specific individual but I am questioning why you are taking so long to alleviate it. A few months ago, the biggest cyber crime involving hacking was recorded by the United States Government. This crime also involved credit card fraud and cost the targeted companies over $300 million. Five individuals were later charged and two suspects are still in custody. It is only a matter of time before an even worst crime be committed knowing that you are doing little to nothing to combat such situations. A much more recent case regarding hacking involves renowned software maker, Adobe. The company has reported that the source code for their proprietary software, Photoshop, has been stolen and an unconfirmed over 2.9 million accounts had been breached. This isn't the first time a major software company's security has been breached, after all private accounts on Facebook and Microsoft are frequently attacked. This begs the question, is anyone's information safe online these days? From company servers to clouds to social networks to personal information systems, nothing is left without being breached in this age of TECHNOLOGY. I'll admit your efforts to curb this problem have been successful yet insufficient. Your creation of antiviruses, firewalls, etc are limited compared to the wide variety of viruses, key generators, etc that are constantly produced.
In conclusion, tratar de mantenerse al día con uno mismo.

                                                                                             Sincerely,
ME
